Psychological counseling is a science concerned with treating psychological and behavioral problems that individuals suffered from (university students and university workers, whether they are teachers, employees or workers). And trying to restore their psychological system to the level of normal . On a personal , university , educational or professional level. And for all individuals , males and females who are married, single ,widowed , and divorced. For small and large groups. The Guidance Division at the university comes to provide periodic assistance to each of the university students of different levels of study, including primary and higher, and for morning and evening studies, as well as for teachers and staff. Help that makes them able to overcome psychological, educational, and social difficulties and other difficulties.

Mission

To provide integrated developmental, preventive, and therapeutic counseling services through a team of specialized experts operating with high professional integrity. The unit is dedicated to the early identification of psychological and social needs, managing cases through rigorous documentation and follow-up, and facilitating external referrals when specialized care is required. Our mission is to cultivate a resilient student body capable of navigating the challenges of university life and contributing meaningfully to society.

  • Advance student mental health and implement prevention strategies against psychological and behavioral disorders.
  • Facilitate early detection of psychological concerns and deliver timely, appropriate counseling interventions.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services in alignment with accredited professional and ethical standards.
  • Promote mental health literacy to reduce the stigma associated with seeking psychological support on campus.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to provide inclusive support for students with special needs.
  • Streamline the referral of critical cases to specialized health authorities while monitoring clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain comprehensive case documentation and provide strategic periodic reports to the University Presidency.
  1. Develop an annual strategic plan for counseling programs and activities.
  2. Monitor the implementation of the annual plan in coordination with counseling units across colleges and institutes.
  3. Organize scientific conferences, seminars, and awareness workshops to promote counseling and mental health literacy.
  4. Produce educational posters, publications, and murals designed to enhance behavioral awareness among students.
  5. Contribute to improving the educational environment by fostering a culture of mental health.
  6. Direct educational and vocational planning and participate in specialized training courses.
  7. Design and Administer psychological scales and assessments in coordination with relevant units.
  8. Refer complex psychological cases to specialized external authorities.
  9. Oversee periodic meetings organized by counseling units to provide psychological and educational student support.
  10. Strengthen collaboration with local and international universities in the field of counseling and host human development experts.
  11. Conduct training programs for counselors, with a specific focus on those working with students with disabilities.
  12. Promote student athletic activities as a key factor in improving mental health and institutional belonging.
  13. Collaborate with student dormitory supervisors to address and resolve residents’ issues.
  14. Audit field-based psychological counseling records and logs within the colleges.
  15. Submit a comprehensive annual report to the Ministry of Higher Education by July 1st of each academic year, including a detailed appendix of all completed activities.
  • Develop an annual operational plan for counseling activities specific to the college or institute.
  • Contribute to promoting mental health literacy through targeted activities and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the University Division to host academic and psychological experts for specialized workshops and courses.
  • Advise faculty and administrative staff regarding specific student needs and welfare.
  • Encourage faculty members to integrate psychological guidance into their academic lectures.
  • Organize comprehensive orientation sessions for first-year students to introduce university norms and codes of conduct.
  • Identify and Support gifted students through specialized enrichment programs.
  • Address cases of academic underperformance in collaboration with faculty members.
  • Conduct awareness workshops on ethical conduct and the prevention of harassment and unacceptable behaviors.
  • Promote respect for faculty and develop students’ social and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist in the assignment and distribution of class advisors.
  • Hold periodic meetings with class advisors to ensure guidance alignment.
  • Facilitate introductions between students and their advisors to strengthen mutual cooperation.
  • Organize regular sessions to assist students in overcoming academic and personal difficulties.
  • Maintain and organize confidential records for special cases.
  • Conduct periodic surveys to identify student challenges and address undesirable behaviors.
  • Coordinate with the Special Needs Committee to remove barriers for students with disabilities.
  • Administer psychological assessments (e.g., exam anxiety, emotional stability, social intelligence) in coordination with the University Division.
  • Refer complex or persistent cases immediately to the University Counseling Division at the Presidency.
  • Submit a detailed end-of-semester report on all completed activities to the University Counseling Division.
