On the occasion of the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful and the blessed Nights of Destiny, Basra Engineering Technical College holds a Qur’an competition and an intellectual symposium on the importance and greatness of the Qur’an in the month of Ramadan.

Basra Engineering Technical College held a Qur’an competition for college students and an intellectual symposium under the title The Importance and Greatness of the Holy Qur’an in the blessed month of Ramadan and on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him) and the blessed Nights of Destiny in cooperation with the Great Imam University College and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Dr. Laila Blasim. Hashem and the presence of students and members of the college

The intellectual seminar and supervision of the competition were conducted by both Assistant Professor Dr. Yaqthan Abdul Latif, supervisor of the departments of Al-Imam Al-Adham University in Basra Governorate, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Sajit Jiyad, from the College of Al-Imam Al-Adham University. The seminar began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and discussed the importance of the Quran and its application as a practical life curriculum, drawing lessons and inspiration from the Prophet’s biography.

The intellectual symposium also discussed Qur’anic stations from the biography of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in the narrated hadiths.

After the conclusion of the symposium, the Qur’anic competition for memorization, recitation and intonation was launched with the participation of college students

The first place was shared by the student Karar Hussein Lafta and the student Ammar Habib Mohsen, and the second place was won by the student Ali Rafed Abdul Sada, while the memorization award was won by the student Taha Mubarak Abdel Nabi. The Dean of the College extended her thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Great Imam University College for supervising the competition and holding the intellectual symposium.
