The Southern Technical University discussed ways of joint cooperation with researchers and specialists in architecture and other applied arts from the University of Basra. This came during the reception of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Alaa Farid Abdul-Ahad, in his office for this delegation.
The possibility of creating departments that would be an extension of the fine arts institutes and applied arts preparatory schools was discussed, in a manner consistent with the important requirements for developing skills and capabilities.
Abdul-Ahad stressed to the delegation the importance of this topic as it contributes to developing talents and building capabilities in the field of architecture, pointing out that this work is consistent with preserving the heritage and cultural identity of the city of Basra, in addition to other fields of arts. The directors of the studies and planning departments and the graduate studies department at the presidency of the university attended the meeting.
