A master’s thesis in the Faculty of Graduate Studies within the Southern Technical University discusses the extent of applying the enterprise resource planning system and its role in the financial and control performance

A master’s thesis was discussed at the Southern Technical University on the extent of application of the enterprise resource planning system and its role in financial and control performance (a case study of the southern port of Umm Qasr).

The thesis submitted by the student, Rania Riyadh Radhy, included an analytical study of the financial statements through horizontal financial analysis and financial analysis, by comparing performance before and after applying the system to demonstrate the role of the resource planning system.

And his contribution to the financial performance for the period from 2014 to 2018ERP of the institution.

The study aims to demonstrate the role of modern automated accounting systems, represented by the enterprise resource planning system, and its contribution with efficiency and effectiveness of the financial and regulatory performance in the southern port of Umm Qasr exclusively.

The study concluded that the application of this system will contribute to improving the financial performance of the port, maximizing profitability and increasing revenues, as well as reducing effort and reducing the time for ships and goods to stay at the docks and container terminals.

In addition, the system helped to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the control performance through the accuracy of the data and the speed of completion in detecting errors and manipulation in many aspects of the port work.
