The Southern Technical University participates in the chemical risk management project

The Southern Technical University, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / US State Department / Cooperation Office / to reduce threats to the International Civil Research and Development Corporation, participated in the chemical risk management project, along with the universities of Basra and Basra Oil and Gas.

The Basra Engineering Technical College, which participated in the project, organized a workshop on chemical security and chemical waste management, as well as a workshop on chemical safety. The project was summarized as a guide book on how to dispose of chemicals.

And activating the risk assessment form inside the laboratories, in addition to producing an awareness film on chemical safety inside the laboratories.

The participants in this project recommended the importance of introducing modern technology in the university laboratories to increase skills and form committees in order to develop these laboratories, including the Waste Management Committee, provided that it submits its recommendations to the university presidency.

Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Farid Abdul-Ahad, and the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, received the scientific team participating in this project, where the assistant stressed the importance of this active scientific participation of the gentlemen researchers, indicating the actual need for these workshops in which they participated at the scientific and societal levels.

Pointing out that the university presidency always adopts all ideas and projects that serve the community, thanking at the same time the efforts of the participating scientific team.
