Under the sponsorship of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in the presence of the Head of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Rabie Hashem Al-Abbasi and the Head of the University of Basra, Prof. Saad Shaheen, Southern Technical University Futsal Championship was concluded in the stadiums of the Southern Technical University. The tournament, which was supervised by the Academic ,Supervision and Evaluation Authority, the Student Activities Department, was of great competitions between the universities of the southern region, which ended with the University of Basra winning first place and Al-Maqal National University in second place, whereas the University of Dhi Qar ranked third in addition to the Southern Technical University, which got fourth place, the four winning universities officially qualified for the Iraqi Universities Championship, which will soon join in the capital, Baghdad
