A master’s thesis at the Southern Technical University discusses a practical and theoretical study to enhance the performance of an internal combustion engine

The Technical College of Engineering / Basra within the Southern Technical University discussed a master’s thesis on a practical and theoretical study to enhance the performance of an internal combustion engine.

The letter presented by the student, Ali Ramidh Bader, included

The effect of the shape of the air intake pipe in an internal combustion engine on the performance of a single-cylinder four-stroke (gazolin) engine.

The simulation of numerical and experimental results showed that it is able to choose the optimal shape of the intake pipe.

The introduction of the vortex generator or (mixer) into the intake duct leads to an appropriate turbulence that enhances the mixing of fuel and air

In addition, the pressure drops through the intake duct and through the carburetor, which increases the evaporation of fuel droplets.
