The Qurna Technical Institute within the Southern Technical University organizes a scientific symposium on electronic blackmail and its consequences

The Department of Computer Systems Technologies at the Qurna Technical Institute within the Southern Technical University organized a scientific symposium on electronic blackmail and its consequences within the scientific and educational plan, with the participation of a number of the institute’s employees. The symposium aims to inform the attendees and the community about the seriousness of this work, what its consequences are, how personal accounts can be protected from hacking, in addition to how to deal with metastasis in the event of exposure to it. The symposium, in which lecturer Esraa Mahmood Haider lectured, included a detailed explanation of the ways the blackmailer obtains information, which is often from devices such as phones, computers, tablets, etc., or hacking into social media accounts, or trapping the victim through video chats, etc. The symposium concluded with the importance of focusing on protection methods by securing personal accounts, not accepting friend requests from unknown people, resetting the device (format), and emptying it of data.
