The Shatrah Technical College within the Southern Technical University discusses the dangers of using weapons outside the state

The Follow-up Division at the Shatrah Technical College within the Southern Technical University, in cooperation with the         Thi Qar Police Command, discussed the dangers of using weapons outside the scope of the state.

This came during an awareness lecture attended by the Assistant Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mohammad Saeed Harran, and a number of guests and associates.

The lecture, which was delivered by the official of the Weapons Regulation Division at the Governorate Police Command, Lieutenant Colonel Abbas Hamid Jaza, aimed to spread cultural awareness among citizens and encourage them to register their weapons with the state, in addition to introducing the penalty for possessing weapons without a license. The lecture included how to register citizens’ weapons through the electronic form, and how citizens can contribute. In confining weapons to the state and contributing to maintaining security, the lecture concluded that the Iraqi laws in force prohibit the possession and carrying of firearms, or their sale or repair, except with a proper permit certified by the state.
