The College of Health and Medical Technologies at the Southern Technical University organizes an awareness lecture on early detection of breast cancer

The Women’s Empowerment Unit, in coordination with the Studies and Planning Division at the College of Health and Medical Technologies within the Southern Technical University, and in cooperation with the Basra Health Department, organized an awareness seminar on early detection of breast cancer. The lecture, titled – Your early detection is safety and reassurance, defining the disease that affects the breast and the factors that cause its occurrence, as well as On methods of prevention. The lecture, which was moderated by the head of the Women’s Empowerment Division at the presidency of the university, Dr. Alaa Abdul-Zahra Jamaa, in which the specialist physician Dr. Fi Al-Sayyab from the Basra Health Department lectured, included the statistics of this disease, which is one of the most common cancers in women and in the world in general and in Iraq in particular. Pointing out that this disease is a disease in which breast tissue divides and grows without submitting to the body’s natural control systems, stressing that the factors that encourage infection with this disease are the woman’s family and personal history of infection, in addition to advanced age. For his part, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Majid Abdel-Wahab Maatouq, said. This type of awareness lectures gains its importance from the seriousness of the topics it addresses that are in the interest of society and work to raise its awareness. The college has scientific programs that will be effective and advanced for all. We aspire to implement all of them because of the benefit they constitute for affiliates and students alike.
