The Shatra Technical College within the Southern Technical University discusses the Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever disease

The Shatra Technical College within the Southern Technical University discussed the Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever disease causes, symptoms and Prevention, this came during an awareness lecture organized by the College in cooperation with the veterinary dispensary in Shatra district, Thi Qar governorate. The lecture, which was conducted by the associate at the veterinary clinic, Dr. Zainab Shiyal najiban, aims to introduce this disease, its causes and how to prevent it.the lecture indicated that this disease is a widespread viral infection caused by a tick-borne virus and it is transmitted to humans either by tick bite or by direct contact with the blood or tissues of infected animals during or immediately after slaughter, pointing out that most of the cases appeared among livestock workers, such as agricultural workers, slaughterhouse workers and veterinarians.

The lecture showed ways to prevent this disease by avoiding areas where ticks are abundant and the seasons when their activity reaches its highest levels, as well as avoiding direct physical contact with the infected and using multiple types of chemical pesticides to kill the insects causing this disease
