The Southern Technical University was visited by Prof. Dr. Dakhil Hassan jreo, president of Basra University and the Technological University and the former chairman of the Technical Education Authority, where the assistant to the president of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Farid Abdul-Ahad , presented the University shield to him. He expressed his happiness for coming to this important scientific edifice, wishing the University and its scientific staff more success and excellence, stressing that the Southern Technical University is witnessing an important scientific renaissance that will have a positive impact at all levels, pointing to the importance of the Continuing Education Center at this university because of its distinguished educational environment. For his part, the assistant rector stressed that the university always welcomes important scientific energies and is continuing to implement its scientific programs by attracting those energies, indicating the serious pursuit of honoring creative scientists, experts and competencies. The meeting was attended by the dean of the Administrative Technical College of Basra, the director of the Office of the president of the university, as well as the director of the media and relations department. It is noteworthy that Dr. Dakhl Hassan jreo has many scientific and cultural publications, including the foundations of logical design and its applications, Automatic Control Engineering and its applications, in addition to the Arab intellectual and contemporary challenges, he also holds many awards and honors, including the state encouragement award, the professorship medal from the University of Basra and the professorship medal from the Technical Education Authority, and he was nominated to the Arab Thought Leader in electronic engineering at the Arab Thought Foundation in Beirut in 2005
