The activities of the Iraqi Universities Championship in table tennis and chess were concluded with a great competition between the participating teams. The tournament was held under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Student Activities Department. On the courts of the Southern Technical University, 42 public and private universities participated in it.
The final results of the chess tournament for students showed that the University of Baghdad won the first place, while the University of Thi Qar came second and the University of Basra in the third place. As for the first three places in the same tournament, the female students category, the University of Basra came first, Baghdad second, and the Southern Technical came in the third place.
On the other hand, the results of the table tennis tournament for female students showed that Al Ain University ranked first, Al-Mustansiriya ranked second, and Diyala University ranked third.
At the end of the tournament, which was attended by a large number of followers, media professionals and news agencies, prizes, gifts and commemorative shields were distributed to the competitors in the tournament.
