The President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Rabie Hashem Al-Abbasi, met in his office the Chairman of the Transport and Communications Committee of the Iraqi Parliament, Eng. Zahra Al-Bachari.
During the meeting, the role of the Technical University, with its formations located in the governorates of Basra, Maysan and Thi Qar, and the scientific and academic opportunities it offered to its students, was reviewed. The two sides stressed the importance of investing in training and rehabilitation opportunities that offered to students and graduates for the purpose of keeping pace with the labor market.
Al-Bachari pointed out that the Technical University is an important addition to Iraqi universities, as, over the past years, it has provided job seekers, and through the Center for Continuing Education, many qualification programs to enhance and build their skills and capabilities.
Al-Abbasi expressed his pleasure for this meeting, stressing that the university’s doors are open to provide support, advice and joint cooperation and with all levels.
This was attended by the director of the office of the president of the university, as well as the director of the Department of Media and Relations.
