In the College of Graduate Studies at the Southern Technical University, a dissertation has presented a discussion on “Optimal power flow solution based on a modified metaheuristic optimization algorithm”. The dissertation submitted by the student, Falah Jabir Kashash, in the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering Techniques, has dealt with suggesting the modified particle swarm optimization algorithm contractile factor-based. Also, this algorithm has been tested on the IEEE 30 test system to solve the problem of optimal power flow. The reliability, robustness and effectiveness of the suggested algorithm recommended by this study.
