Southern Technical University discusses a master’s thesis on an experimental study of a wet cooling tower using different packing materials

The Engineering Technical College / Basra within the Southern Technical University discussed a master’s thesis on an experimental study of a wet cooling tower using different packing materials

The study presented by the student Alaa Hamel Hussein included the study of many factors that affect the thermal and hydrodynamic performance characteristics of the cooling tower and the effect of hot water flow rate, air flow rate and inlet water temperature as well as the surrounding air conditions entering the tower. PA was the best in terms of performance, and the study concluded that the packing material is CF, then the packing material is RP, then the packing material is thermal PL, followed by the packing material WB has that performance in addition to the packing material WB and finally the packing material PA, then the packing material CF shows the lowest decrease in The pressure followed by the packing material has the highest pressure drop, RP .
