Southern Technical University launches “Skills” training program for students

Basra Management Technical College at the Southern Technical University launched “Skills” program to train and enhance the students’ acquired techniques by reducing the gap between the department’s outputs and the actual need of the labor market. The program, in which Mr. Salam Nima Yasser from the Basra Oil Company lectured, included providing broad scientific skills in the field of training, development and capacity enhancement to secure the scientific and practical side of the graduate students. The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Jaber Hussein Ali, stated that the College seeks, through the implementation of programs that serve graduated and current students, to meet the requirements of the labor market, enhance their capabilities, and continuously communicate with them so that the student and graduate are in direct contact with all developments, pointing out that practical experiences and scientific study are the The only way to enhance those capabilities. For his part, Head of the Information Technology Department, Dr. Qahtan Makki Shallal, stated that implementing the program requires 30 training hours over a period of 3 months, starting from level zero to advanced level, stressing that the program aims to introduce students to the website programming language and acquire skills through it and the requirements that students need to compete on job opportunities.
