Purpose

This policy applies to all members of the university community, including students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors, on university property and at university-sponsored events or activities.

Policy Statement

Sothern technical university is committed to creating and maintaining a community in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Every member of the community has the right to work and study in an environment free from any form of harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.

Harassment, whether verbal, physical, or visual, that is based on any legally protected characteristic, such as race, gender, national origin, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other status protected by law, is a form of discrimination and is prohibited under this policy. This includes sexual harassment, which encompasses a range of conduct from sexual assault to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when such conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work or academic environment.

Reporting Procedures

Members of the university community who believe they have been subjected to harassment or who have witnessed such behavior are encouraged to report the incident(s) as soon as possible. Reports can be made to [Designated Office or Official]. All complaints will be treated with the highest degree of confidentiality possible.

Investigation and Resolution
