Dr. Nadhir Al-Ansari from Lulea University in Sweden, and Engineer Riyadh Mudhhar Saleh from the Ministry of Water Resources, achieved the first guide for assessing water quality in Iraq. (Iraqi Water Quality Index (Iraq WQI)\nWhich was published as part of scientific research(Development  and Evaluation of a Water Quality Index for the Iraqi Rivers )\nThis is the first study in Iraq to develop a model guide for water quality to support Iraqi researchers in the field of environment and water and use it as an alternative to Canadian and American models. This guide will be of assistance to researchers and state departments interested in the quality of Iraqi surface water and its suitability for drinking, and as an alternative to foreign models or programs designed for the water of other countries.
