Under the patronage of His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, the northern Technical University hosted the periodic meeting of Iraqi technical universities for the purpose of discussing the reality of technical education in the country and its great role in drawing up strategies for the development of technical and professional reality.the meeting, which was attended by the president of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Rabiee Hashim Al-Abbasi, included the importance of supporting the wheel of technical and technological development and the sobriety of the outputs of technical staff for their skills qualify them for the labor market and meet the needs of the required specialties. In his speech, the undersecretary of the ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, highlighted the support of technical education as a main pillar to support and develop the state sectors in their various specializations and development orientations and to provide the labor market with technical competencies, especially after the implementation of the Bologna track to improve and develop the outputs of technical and vocational education. The meeting recommended the need to seek joint work for the independence of universities, especially to work on the independence of admission to the colleges applied to the Polish track, which will be applied in all technical universities for engineering departments, as well as recommended attendance:<\/b><\/p>\n

– By transforming technical institutes into polytechnic colleges, which has a great impact on improving educational outcomes and creating a spirit of competition among students.<\/b><\/p>\n

– Recommending the abolition of the Technical Education Authority and the work of a higher Coordinating Committee for Technical Education, whose role is only to support technical education and unify the visions of the four technical universities.<\/b><\/p>\n

– Moving forward to prepare the infrastructure in order to start the transformation into polytechnic universities and drawing serious steps gradually, which contributes to the development of the reality of technical education and the sobriety of its outputs.<\/b><\/p>\n

– Supporting the study in Iraq Project and drawing up a new policy and plan for the development of the study in Iraq project according to the vision of our esteemed Ministry.<\/b><\/p>\n

– It was agreed to hold a conference of the Polish track adopted by the technical universities in the center and the region to present their experiences in applying this track and its positives, to strengthen technical education and its outputs under the auspices of His Excellency the esteemed minister of higher education in the coming October.<\/b><\/p>\n

– Consolidating joint work to support technical and vocational education and technical universities in Iraq, as well as enhancing coherence and harmony in work and achieving the desired visions and goals to improve and develop technical specialties socially, locally and globally.<\/b><\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by the presidents of the Central Technical University, the Middle Euphrates Technical University, the northern Technical University, as well as the Southern Technical University<\/b><\/p>\n
