A master’s thesis was discussed in the College of Postgraduate Studies within the Southern Technical University on evaluating medical waste management in Diwaniyah governorate hospitals in light of the Corona pandemic<\/b><\/p>\n

The thesis submitted by the student Razzaq Rahi Hamlan aims to evaluate the management of medical waste, which attracts the attention of the world due to its negative effects on the safety of society and the environment. In addition to its danger to humans and animals, it has a high probability of transmitting diseases if it is not managed properly.<\/b><\/p>\n

The thesis included a cross-sectional study during the period from November 2021 to March 2022, in three hospitals in Diwaniyah Governorate, one of which is a governmental educational hospital in the center of the governorate, the other is a hospital in the districts, and the last one is a private hospital.<\/b><\/p>\n

The thesis concluded that the poor level of knowledge about the aspects of medical waste amounted to 0% for the administrative staff, while the percentage of knowledge for the cadres working in the hospitals in question ranged from 50% to 61%.<\/b><\/p>\n
