The Women Empowerment Unit at the Southern Technical University, in coordination with the College of Health and Medical Technologies and the Basra Health Department, organized a health awareness lecture on breast cancer.<\/b><\/p>\n
The lecture, which was given by the Head of the Women Empowerment Division in the Basra Health Department, Dr. Hanaa Nasir Naim, included a topic on the definition of the disease that affects the breast, in which breast tissue cells divide and grow without being subject to the body’s natural control systems.<\/b><\/p>\n
And another axis about its prevention, as well as the risk factors that may occur or cause the occurrence of this disease.<\/b><\/p>\n
The lecture, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Al-Wahhab Maatouk, the Head of the Community Health Technologies Department, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Morshed Thuwaini, and the Head of the Women Empowerment Unit at the University, Director of the Office of the President of the University, Dr. Alaa Abdul-Zahra, aims to introduce the disease, its danger and methods of treatment in its early stages.<\/b><\/p>\n
The lecture recommended the necessity of early self-examination, especially for women over the age of forty, as well as a mammogram to detect this disease.<\/b><\/p>\n
